The A-Net Login Server for UNIX is part of the A-Net product family forIBM Enterprise Systems. These software products give users of IBM 3270terminals transparent access to non-SNA applications. The A-Net LoginServer for UNIX and A-Net allow 3270 terminals to login to UNIXapplications on a RISC System/6 or Sun(TM) system as if the 3270s werefull-screen ASCII terminals. This solution requires only an SNAconnection between the UNIX system and the Enterprise System host; nonon-SNA networks, protocols, or terminals are required.The A-Net Login Server software resides on the RS/6 or the Sun machineand requires the IBM AIX SNA Services/6 Licensed Program, the IBM SNAServer/6 Licensed Program, or EXPRESS, a communication software fromApertus Technologies, Inc.. The SNA Services programs can run on eitherthe RS/6 or the Sun system. The A-Net software is required on theEnterprise System host. A-Net is a VTAM application; versions areavailable for the MVS, MVS/XA, MVS/ESA, VM/GCS SP, VM/GCS XA, VM/GCS ESA,VSE/SP, and VSE/ESA operating systems.
